After many years of hunting, gathering, and buying antiques and collectibles, the Riedman family of Portland, Oregon determined that local antique malls were not meeting their expectations. Most importantly, antique malls were not providing their customers with a pleasant and comfortable shopping experience.

As a result, the Riedman family decided that the only way to provide customers with an enjoyable experience was to build something new and exciting. Based on the simple principle of focusing on the customer experience, Monticello Antique Marketplace was created in January of 2000.
